Election of officers for 2008

            Vice Chair         John Wilhoit

            Secretary          Lori Garkovich

The Cost of Community Services Study is in process. Patti Wilson (via e-mail) provided the following update:

I have had two meetings with Dave and we have met with Gary Gillis.  All is going well. Dave will be examining last year's audits from all legislative bodies and the School Board. These have been requested and budgets have been received from the legislative bodies.  Nicole (our GIS expert) is compiling lots of data for Dave too. We will be meeting again next week. He did have a family emergency which required him to leave town for a while and although this put us off schedule a bit, it seems we will complete the study on time.

Woodford Rural Land Board

Via e-mail, Patti Wilson indicated that one more application had been submitted to the Judge's office for the Rural Land Board

We are urged to continue seeking persons willing to serve on the WRLB

The committee members brainstormed some additional names that represented the different categories of persons to serve on the Board (Farm Bureau members, realtors, citizens, local business persons, developers).

In other discussion on the WRLB and some of its first tasks, it was noted that operational policies and criteria for acceptance of donated easements would be needed.

Update on the Tom Post Bed and Breakfast proposal reviewed by AARC and then submitted to the Technical Review Committee

The TRC approved with our recommendations and added "no amplified sound" and we should consider this issue in the review of future proposals when appropriate

Workshop on Rails-to-Trails and Bed & Breakfast site

Lori is still trying to get to this but the committee suggested determining if we can partner with any group in Versailles/Woodford County working to develop opportunities related to the World Equestrian Games.
